POSITION: General Labourer Traffic Control

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

DEPARTMENT: Traffic Control

LOCATION: Hamilton and GTA

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid Class G license with a clean abstract
  • Ability to drive a variety of different types of light duty trucks
  • Knowledge of the GTA and/or Hamilton area
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of Book 7, CVOR, OHSA would be considered an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read traffic control plans and receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Performs lane closures/set up and take down
  • Control traffic flow in construction areas
  • Securely loads finished highway signs on trailer for delivery to job site.
  • Performs sign installation on highways
  • Maintains necessary paperwork. 

Working Conditions: 

  • Outdoor work environment in a variety of weather conditions
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Hours and/or work assignment may be changed based on operational needs. We are a seven day a week operation so weekends and holiday work may be required.
  • Works under general supervision on assigned tasks.
